About JMAGC
Level II Self-Regulatory Body for publishers of news and current affairs content in India.
Who We Are
The Journalist and Media Association Grievances Council (JMAGC) is a premier self-regulatory body operating within the Indian media ecosystem. Officially recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), Government of India, we serve as a crucial bridge between digital news publishers and the public.
Established under the central government mandate that requires all news portals to register under a self-regulatory framework, JMAGC ensures that the rapid growth of digital media is accompanied by a steadfast commitment to journalistic integrity, accuracy, and public responsibility.
Our Mission
To provide a robust, accessible, and transparent grievance redressal mechanism that empowers citizens while guiding digital news publishers to maintain the highest standards of journalism and adhere strictly to the prescribed digital media ethics code.
Our Vision
To cultivate a trusted and vibrant digital media environment in India where freedom of expression flourishes responsibly, misinformation is actively curtailed, and the public can consume news with absolute confidence.
